ABSTRACT
This paper examines the practicality of using a Monte-Carlo algorithm to analyse the point vortex equilibrium statistical model of two-layer baroclinic and barotropic quasi-geostrophic vortices in the two-dimensional plane. The conserved quantity, angular momentum, serves to contine the vortices.
